Trilogy Set for Men

Emerging in 1970, Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) were pioneers of the progressive rock sound and one of rock's first supergroups. ELP played a significant role in expanding the genre's audience from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions, becoming one of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s, with global album sales exceeding 40 million.

Their first seven album releases all charted within the top 10 in the UK and the top 20 in the US. "Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends ~ Ladies and Gentlemen," released in 1974, was a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind triple-vinyl live rock album. Recorded during the 1973/1974 "Someone Get Me a Ladder" world tour, the adrenaline-fuelled live recordings capture the group at the peak of its creative powers.

The album reached the 5th position in the UK and the 4th position in the US. ELP's elaborate stage shows were a sight to behold, with 40 tons of equipment and 140 road crew members supporting the performances. The group's iconic features included Keith Emerson's flying piano and Carl Palmer's revolving, 2-ton stainless steel drum kit.

The 2CD set is the new 24/96 2016 remaster of the original 1974 release, sourced from the master tapes. The LP is the 2016 new remaster of the original album, with the original album artwork faithfully reproduced, including a die-cut triple gatefold sleeve, die-cut E,L,P sleeve letters, a special metallic 5th colour, and an embossed logo.

The 140 gsm LP format also includes a foreword by Greg Lake. This release was produced in association with Emerson, Lake & Palmer and their management. The 2CD booklet contains extensive liner notes with new band interviews by legendary rock journalist Chris Welch. The audio was remastered by the world-renowned rock studio engineer Andy Pearce, and this is the first release of MFiT and HD digital versions of the original album.
